Why people come
Lambasingi sits about 1,000 metres up in the Eastern Ghats, in the Chintapalli belt of the Alluri Sitharama Raju district. In December the night temperature regularly falls to the low single digits, and in some years frost settles on the fields before dawn — which is why locals call it Korra Bayalu, "the place where a stick freezes".
The draw is not a monument or a museum. It is the fog: a thick white blanket that fills the valley at first light and burns off by nine, and the coffee, pepper and strawberry country that appears underneath it.

When to visit
The season runs October to March. November to January is peak — freezing fog, full occupancy and the highest tariffs, so book early. February brings the strawberries. The monsoon months are green and quiet, with the waterfalls at their best.

Getting here
Visakhapatnam International Airport is the nearest, about 105 km away, with direct flights from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Kolkata. Hire a cab from the airport — roughly a 3.5-hour drive.
Narsipatnam Road is the closest station at about 61 km. Visakhapatnam Junction is the better-connected option and has taxis waiting at all hours.
APSRTC and private buses run from Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Narsipatnam and Chintapalli. Self-drive and taxis are the most comfortable, especially with luggage.
From Visakhapatnam the usual route is Vizag → Anakapalle → Narsipatnam → Chintapalli → Lambasingi, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours. The last hour is a ghat road with tight bends and, in season, thick fog. Drive it in daylight, keep fuel topped up at Narsipatnam, and expect patchy mobile signal for the final stretch. APSRTC buses run from Vizag, Narsipatnam, Anakapalle and Chintapalli.

Every night, weather permitting
The wood is stacked at dusk and lit as the temperature drops. Music, Araku-spiced barbecue off the coals, and almost no light pollution overhead.

Private transport and a driver who knows which roads are passable, so you spend the day looking at the valley instead of at a map with no signal.

10 min drive from the resort
The vantage point over the Cheruvulavenam hills that made Lambasingi famous. Coffee and pepper plantations drop away into cloud. Arrive by 5:45 AM in winter for the fog, or stay for sunset.

15 min drive from the resort
A calm sheet of water on the Narsipatnam-Paderu road, ringed by hills. Boating is available on most days and the light just before sunset is the best of the whole trip.

1 hr 15 min drive from the resort
A cascade on the Ghostani river, roughly 500 feet inside dense forest. The final approach is on foot over wet rock. Strongest flow is just after the monsoon.
3-10 km
10-25 min drive from the resort
Also called the Amber Coloured Garden. Yellow flowers, walking trails, and the organic strawberry farms nearby where you can pick your own between December and February.

Walk from the resort
Lambasingi sits inside Andhra's coffee belt. Our morning walk goes through the estates that surround the property, and the Araku beans in your cup are grown a short drive away.

45 min drive from the resort
A quieter, smaller fall — about 10 feet high and 15 feet wide — with shallow pools in a green valley. A good half-day trip when Kothapalli is too far.

Sample plan
Reach by 2 PM, check in, tea on the veranda. Drive out to Thajangi Reservoir for sunset, back for the bonfire and a barbecue dinner.
Music and the fire on the lawn. Star-gazing if the sky is clear — there is almost no light pollution up here.
The 4x4 jeep safari leaves at 5:30 AM for the View Point and the fog. Back for hot Araku coffee and breakfast, then the coffee plantation walk.
Check out by 10 AM. Kothapalli Waterfalls and the strawberry farms on the way down, reaching Vizag by evening.
Pack this
There are no big shops on the hill. Whatever you forget, you will be buying at Narsipatnam on the way up — so pack it before you leave.
